Did you know
that Norwich Castle was built by the Normans as a Royal
Palace 900 years ago?
Norwich city walls enclose a larger area than any other
city walls in England (including London)
By medieval times there were 56 churches within the
walls of Norwich, reflecting its status as an opulent ministry.
In 1565 Norwich accepted 30 households of skilled
refugees from the Netherlands, who happened to bring canaries with them!
Norwich Union was founded in 1797 (in
Norwich) by Thomas Bignold. |
